Some photos of my boys last LAX game. He’s small and gets checked a lot but boy does he fight.
I photographed this awesome, fun family when they were a family of 3 several year ago — so naturally I get excited when I get another opportunity to photograph a family I have shot before. We had nearly perfect conditions for our shoot here — no humidity, friday night, happy kids and no mosquitos!
Feeling blessed after sessions like this.
I’m so so so lucky — the previous owner to this house (who lived here 22 years!) created an amazing Garden of Eden here on these 1.5 acres. Everywhere you turn, it’s some remarkable blossoming flower or unique plant or tree. I am trying to keep it going but cannot possibly do this b/c it’s nearly a full time job. My mom has been graciously helping me clean the gardens after the winter so we can allow the plants to grow and reach our happy eyes. My husband is cutting the lawn and also helping keep that happy. I appreciate all the long hours she put into these gardens to make them what they are today as even a stroll to my mailbox is DREAMY. I have to walk the 100+ yards down the driveway or thru the “shade garden” she created and it’s so heavenly.
I had fun taking macro shots this afternoon of some of the treats and as I was looking for a great quote, I found this and couldn’t think of anything more appropriate:
“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.”
Gerard De Nerval
These 2 lovebirds are tying the knot later this year somewhere outside of VA. I am not their wedding photographer but they wanted a local engagement session so we headed towards Alexandria. Ironically, they live in the same development that I moved from 2 years ago! Congrats to you Shannon + Matt!
Last month I photographed these beautiful sisters in Alexandria. They made it very easy — great weather, fun personalities, yet very different from each other. Mom found me thru 3 other mutual friends I have photographed. Thanks Pia!
