So excited to be doing this tomorrow in Alexandria and it’s going to be a long day as we start at 730am and go until 6. It’s called “Help-Portrait” – the brainchild behind this phenomenal photographer, Jeremy Cowart.
Last year I heard about it online via the photography community (and it was covered on national news) but was unsure what it really was before it took place because it was a brand new ‘concept’. I don’t know if there was an event in DC but this year there are several happening in the DC area and I’ll be in Alexandria with the group which was organized by an Alexandria photographer (kudos to her for making it happen). From what I understand there are 35 volunteers helping with this effort — photographers to non-photographers. 80 “needy” families will walk through the doors at this church where we’ll be set-up (4 studio stations to shoot them) and we’ll have make-up artists there to “pretty-ify” them. I’m not sure what their stories are but I’ll report back soon. Please pray for a successful day.
